This is a tough one. I thought about it for two days, and then had three ideas that I liked.
Remnants of Vincent
Beneath ultramarine skies
Ochre harvest waits
Another harvest
cutting down what was alive
to pass life along
What’s that awful smell
Farmer wonders as he mows
Skunk leaves without tail
(true family story!)
Macro cornfields or
Janitor’s broom and wall paint
Or micro flea hairs?
Endless acres of
Fresh-reaped corn. Won’t someone please
Think of the Children?
Appears crop circles.
He speaks. Famine, feast. Now what?
Confused. Ask, receive.
Hard work still ahead
Harvest, husk, cook, eat, repeat
