Blowing a hairdryer
On my frozen front door
Finally about out!
Long lonely winter
Spires of ice encircle
Somberly I wait
Bound like Tantalus —
just to touch my burning tongue
on that icicle!
Tidal wave of cold
You lap against my warm home
Falling wave, you froze
mem’ries of childhood
icicles snapped without thought
taste-testing each spire
A snow dragon’s maw:
Snapshot, a frozen moment.
Breathe some fire on me.
ice queen’s frozen claw
reaching into passing souls
caution, dripping hell.
