FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Burnside Writers Collective and Burnside Writers Collective and Relief: A Quarterly Christian Expression have announced that they will be partnering to produce the long-awaited Ankeny Briefcase as an anthology of short stories by unpublished and lightly-published authors. Kimberly Culbertson, Editor of Relief, states, "We realized that our goals were similar and that we could accomplish more together. The Ankeny Briefcase promises to turn some heads." Jordan Green, Editor of the Ankeny Briefcase and the Burnside Writers Collective website, states "After some long talks with the good folks at Relief Journal, we decided that the Ankeny Briefcase would be better off if we combined powers, sort of like the Power Rangers or the Thundercats. The Ankeny Briefcase is in good hands." Green and Culbertson will co-edit the anthology, which will be available for purchase on December 1, 2006 via the Burnside Writers Collective Web site, http://www.burnsidewriterscollective.com and Relief's Web Site, http://www.reliefjournal.com. Submissions for Ankeny Briefcase are now officially closed. Authors who have submitted work to the Briefcase will be notified soon on the status of their work. And now for the inevitable questions:
No. Relief:A Quarterly Christian Expression will continue to be a quarterly journal, and Ankeny Briefcase will be an anthology. This is a partnership on a project, not a combining of entities. ccPublishing, the parent non-profit company of Relief, will be the publisher.
No. The submission period for Ankeny Briefcase is now closed. So stop sending them stuff. Relief's submission periods are always open.
Jordan and his staff will be contacting everyone who has submitted work to the Ankeny Briefcase in the next few months.
It will be officially for sale on December 1, 2006. Pre-sales of Ankeny Briefcase are not yet determined.
That is yet to be determined.
Due to Don's speaking schedule, he will not be co-editing the journal. He will be supporting the Ankeny Briefcase through the Burnside Writers Collective. Jordan Green, Editor of the Burnside Writers Collective web site and Kimberly Culbertson, Senior Editor of Relief will be co-editing the anthology.
