I am as rookie as they come to blogging (first blog), submitting my work, just generally taking the risk of letting eyes other than mine view the fountain pen hopes in my little stack of notebooks. First off - congratulations to the individual who was just published! Secondly - I have loved reading your conversation threads, have found them encouraging, and you have helped me feel like part of a community - rather than the bleary eyed oddity staying up alone at night with the coffee and my own self-criticism, staring at the same poem, same line, asking the same question (is this any good) over and over and over...Having the same conversation with yourself and your poem can get so circular. So, thanks Relief for the opportunity to blog and be a part of an ever widening circle of writing and reading community.
I am a teacher. I always tell my students - no silly questions. But I feel silly for asking this one anyway. How does one know if a poem you've submitted to the system is rejected/accepted? Do you get an email either way? How long should I leave it posted? Thanks to the wise ones who will know the answer to this question:)
