The Foolishness of God
The foolishness of God is wiser than man’s
Wisdom. For who has silly, salvific plans
from death? What other plans extend this length?
God's weaknesses are stronger than man’s strength
For He is arisen from the dead. (O
Tipsy thoughts, aches and pains torment my head!) So
Pillars of learning bow before the Lord!
Body builder--God’s flab over your washboard!
For none like the Lord has there ever been,
Though weak, he crushes impurity and sin.
No body builder ’gainst his weakness dare stand;
Wise men made foolish in every land!
Thus I will rejoice in the Lord my Savior.
A Sonnet
You are ever more; You are ever more!
Lifting these weak arms up from the floor!
A love which lasts forever, a bread so rich
Nourishing Your people to the core;
Wine so sweet, it overflows-- I must unhitch
my flask filling it up as it pours over
the earth, strengthening hearts which you send
combating Death's demons numb'ring in the scores!
All's not lost as Love comes round the bend!
Bringing new ages where tears and sadness end!
Galloping on, Love leads the charge vanquishing
Those blasted blaggards now languishing
O Hallelujah! Halle, Hallelu!
Those demons run off in droves two by two!
